I have always had a keen interest on the piano and enjoy listening to (and playing some of) the vast wealth of repertoire there is for this magnificent instrument.
When I started having piano lessons aged 7. I got to appreciate the enjoyment that playing the piano brings, and after witnessing my piano being tuned for the first time, a lifelong interest for the mechanical workings of the piano developed.
I went on to achieve a distinction for my ABRSM Grade 8 piano exam back in 2006, and a BA Hons Degree in Music naturally followed in 2009.
I was fortunate to be one of the last generation of shop apprentices who were able to gain their experience in the Bedhampton Pianoshop
workshop, which at the time, specialised in complete frame out restorations of the higher quality German pianos for secondhand retail.
During my time as an apprentice I learnt the trade from the bottom up, from chalking my first set of tuning pins ready for restringing, to chipping up a restrung piano and became an integral part of the restoration team, either doing or having an active role in virtually every part of the rebuilding process.
So whether its a routine tuning, getting a recently acquired piano ‘up and running’, or more involved repairs please contact me.
